STUDY.
This gun cabinet is lurking in the background of Grandpa’s study. It is the first thing Lucia sees when she is eavesdropping and is a constant reminder of the danger that lives in the house. I refurbished an ordinary cabinet and built out the top portion with a velvet lining, new glass panels, and stained the wood to match other wooden fixtures.
DINING ROOM

The alter in the back of a chaotic table serves as a reminder of the household values, both culturally and spiritually. On the opposite side, along the mantle the photos of Lucia’s ancestors serve as another reminder of the long insititution of violence she has grown up around in this political and militaristic family.
GRANDPARENT’S ROOM.
This room reveals a more intimate side of her grandparents that she has never seen before. Personal objects are found on the vanity, dresser, and desk where she eventually finds the weapon which brings her into danger.
